EMAVG COMPETITION RESULTS 2023/2024 SEASON
The Friendship Trophy 2023
The Friendship Trophy competition was held on 9th April.
An enjoyable evening resulted with some very strong entries from the members, and a great variety of different styles and content.
This competition is an open category with two main criteria. It must not exceed 5-minutes duration and must use one piece of commercially available piece of music, which is not altered in any way or over-dubbed with narration or sound effects.
First Place and Winner of the Friendship Trophy

Equal Second
"All Because Of You" by Dave Cooke, and
"Granpa Tell Me All About The Good Ol' Days" also by Dave Cooke
Equal Third
"Holehird" by Malcolm Imhoff, and
"Heart in New York" by David Gibbins
Annual Competition 2024
The Annual Competition 2024 was held on Saturday 13th January.
This day-long event is the highlight of our groups calendar and this year was judged by Peter Warner ARPS
Peter presented the following awards:
Open Section
1st Place, winner of the Caroline Trophy
"Vogalonga" by Malcolm Imhoff
The Runner Up was David Gibbins for "Nobody Knows Why"
Keith Watson's, "The House of Scandal" was third
Highly Commended went to Keith Watson with, "Funicular"
Commended were "The Glass Cathedral" by Jose' Currant
and "A City of Five Facets" by Dave Cooke
Music, Poetry and Song Category.
1st Place, winner of the Ken Abbott Trophy
"The Beauty of Wilderness" by Malcolm Imhoff
The Runner Up was also Malcolm Imhoff with "Colours of Burano"
Third place was awarded to "Narrowboat" by Keith Watson
There were two Highly Commendeds:
"Cwmorthin Slate Quarry" and "Circles", both by Keith Watson
Three AVs were Commended:
"Was it a Dream I Had" by David Gibbins
"Chasing The Light" by John Sutherland and
"The Wanderer" by David Gibbins
Winner of the Elston Trophy For Best AV by an Intermediate Worker this year was awarded to John Sutherland for his entry, "Chasing The Light"
Award for the AV with the Best Voiceover and Winner of the Maggie Imhoff Trophy

The Audience Vote and Winner of the Foursome Shield

We had fourteen entries, every one worth watching and several which I'm sure we shall see in other competitions.
1st was "How Great Thou Art" by Malcolm Imhoff
2nd was "Allan Bank" by Keith Watson
=3rd were "Smoke, Steam and Gangsters" by Graham Neville, and
=3rd "Wonder Fall" by Keith Watson
60 Second Competition 2020
The Winner was Malcolm Imhoff with "England Green and England Grey"
Equal 2nd were Dave Cooke with Glass Fantasy" and Graham Neville with "Lockdown 2020"

Twelve very good, entertaining AVs, mostly of the Photo Harmony style, and several which would probably do well in external competitions.
It was judged as usual by our members.
Equal First were "Here Comes The Sun" by Malcolm Imhoff, and "Forever Autumn" by Dave Cooke
Second was "Moods and Mountains" by Peter Watson
Third was "Down by the Henry Moore" by Malcolm Imhoff
